AuDHD Assessment

A combined autism and ADHD diagnostic assessment - recognising the unique experience of being both autistic and ADHD.

My approach

Many adults discover they are not just autistic or just ADHD - they are both. This combined presentation, sometimes called AuDHD, brings unique strengths and challenges that are best understood through a single, integrated assessment.

I understand that committing to an assessment is a significant investment of your time, energy, and resources. I take it seriously, and want to be transparent with you throughout the process. My aim is to create a positive, therapeutic experience that helps you make sense of your life so far and create a plan for the future.

I have worked with autism and ADHD since 2011, including within NHS diagnostic teams. I deliver a gold standard level of assessment that is recognised by GPs and complies with NICE guidelines. My assessments incorporate up-to-date thinking around masking, burnout, internalising experiences, and how neurodivergence presents differently across the lifespan and between genders.

AuDHD Assessment Process

  1. 1

    Combined Screening

You will be sent a comprehensive screening pack consisting of standardised questionnaires looking at both autism and ADHD traits, executive functioning, and mental health measures.

  2. 2

    Adult AuDHD Assessment

The assessment can be carried out face to face in Dorset or virtually by video. The total assessment time is approximately 5-6 hours, split across sessions. I use a series of gold-standard tools including the Adult Autism Assessment (AAA), ACIA, MIGDAS, and the Diagnostic Interview for ADHD in Adults (DIVA-5), alongside semi-structured clinical interviews tailored to your needs.

  3. 3

    Third Party Information

Where possible, I will gather information from somebody that knows you well - a parent for developmental history, or a partner or sibling for additional perspective. This adds valuable corroborating evidence to the assessment.

  4. 4

    AuDHD Diagnostic Report

A comprehensive combined report (approximately 15 pages) will be written and sent to you. This will include your profiles of autistic and ADHD traits, how they interact, a conclusion, your strengths, and recommendations going forward.

  5. 5

    Feedback

We will meet for a feedback session to discuss the outcome, the report, and how you have processed it. We can explore next steps, including post-diagnostic support, reasonable adjustments, and onward referrals if needed.
